Today’s feral swine battlefield is both rural row crops and urban golf courses. Traditional hog control methods, much like conventional combat tactics, are failing to produce expected frontline results. Wild pigs, like insurgents, are incredibly intelligent and thrive in areas where local citizens fail to control them. Land managers must be prepared to take the fight to this exceptional four-legged enemy which requires equally exceptional methods and technology to control. It is essential to combine the ability of highly trained personnel with more efficient methods and technology into a national Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to accomplish this mission.
JAGER PRO™ was formed by ten retired Soldiers with over 220 years of combined military training and experience. Our combat skills were refined using military science to perform tasks essential for the Army’s battlefield success. Using our strategic perspective, we identified the most critical hog control tasks needed to achieve whole sounder removal and authored an Integrated Wild Pig Control™ Training Manual. This Training Manual will teach farmers, ranchers, wildlife biologists, landowners and professional Hog Control Operators how to efficiently remove entire feral swine populations from a property using a series of innovative control methods and technologies implemented in a specific sequence based on seasonal food sources.
Land managers and professional Hog Control Operators should use this Training Manual as a national training plan to implement standardized tasks and then evaluate their success (or failure) by measuring the performance standard as a valid kill or capture percentage. This publication provides the foundation for an effective national SOP hereinafter referred to as Integrated Wild Pig Control™.
