Manufactures

There has been some exciting news in world of Thermal scope manufactures lately. Two of the best and fastest growing companies in the industry have been bought out. It seems the big companies have finally seen the demand for good quality thermal scopes and monoculars on the civilian market. Or if you can’t beat the competition, buy them and work to build better products. Either way I am excited to see what new technology will come to fruition in the coming years.

FLIR acquires Armasight, Incflir logo

FLIR announced on Tuesday, July 23rd, they had acquired Armasight, Inc. For those of you that are not familiar with Armasight, they are located in South San Francisco, California. Armasight is known around the world for their thermal, night vision, and daylight imaging products for hunters, military, and law enforcement. We noticed Armasight a few years ago for their Zeus product line after FLIR came out with their RS model scopes. I was very impressed with the Armasight Zeus, the clarity of the scope was the best on the market at the time and they used the same FLIR, Tau 2 core as the RS scopes. Armasight then went above and beyond to come out with the Zeus Pro product line and was the only scope on the market to be truly Mil-Spec. Top their great products with even better customer service and it must have been a no brainer to purchase Armasight. Let’s see what the world’s fastest growing manufacturer can do under the world’s biggest.

Trijicon acquires IR DEFENSETrijicon logo

IR DEFENSE has not been around very long but they have the highest quality equipment on the market. Their scopes and monoculars use the incredible BAE 12-micron sensor that has clarity second to none. You will not find their products mixed in with low resolution or low quality junk equipment. They produced nothing but perfection from their 19mm IR PATROL up to their IR HUNTER MARK III 60mm. I am still learning and getting to know our new friends from Trijicon but from what I have found leads me to believe they will really launch this technology and craftsmanship to the next level. Founded in 1981 and known for their innovative applications of tritium and advanced fiber-optics, Trijicon is known to manufacture the most advanced riflescopes and sights
